DroidDB® Tip for February 2016
Distributing Your DroidDB Application
After you created your DroidDB application, you may want to distribute it to your end-users.
The first thing your end-user needs to do is purchase and install the DroidDB Runtime. The DroidDB Runtime is not included in the DroidDB redistributables. Your end-users can purchase the Runtime from http://www.droiddb.com/runtime and install it. By the way, your end-user only needs one runtime per handheld (regardless of the number of DroidDB applications that are on the handheld).
The DroidDB Business Edition comes with an installer builder. The installer builder produces a "distribution folder" with a bunch of files in it. After you run the installer builder, give your end-user this "distribution folder", have your end-user connect their handheld to a desktop, and then run SETUP.EXE from the "distribution folder" on the desktop. This will install the application on the handheld and install the synchronizer.
Please note that Google Play expects an app to have no desktop component. It expects the app to be packaged into a single file called an .APK file that only installs things on a handheld. This precludes using Google Play to distribute your DroidDB application.
